The theatrical feature Lassie (Best Friends Are Forever) premiered in 1994. The Turner family, Steve and his new wife Laura (Jon Tenney and Helen Slater) move to Steve's late wife's rural Virginia home so that Steve can get a new job as an architect. Son Matt (Tom Guiry) is an MTV/skateboarding-obsessed kid disgusted with the move as well as his sister naming the big collie they found "Lassie." But it's Lassie who breaks through Matt's shell and he's the one who comes up with a way to make the old family farmhouse pay when Steve's new job doesn't pan out. Beautifully photographed, lovely family film with a great score.
