In 1988, a new version of the Lassie series (first titled Lassie, then The New Lassie to avoid confusion), came to television, with Will Nipper (Estes) as Lassie's boy Will, Wendy Cox as his sister Megan, and their parents Dee and Chris McCullough (Dee Wallace/Christopher Stone). In a bizarre twist, Chris' adopted brother Steve (Jon Provost) was revealed to be "Timmy" from the original series. (Yes, it's as strange as it sounds.) Lassie and the kids found adventure in the small town of Glen Ridge, California.
